(Sinners of Saint #1)

They say love and hate are the same feelings experienced under different circumstances, and it’s true. The man who comes to me in my dreams also haunts me in my nightmares. He is a brilliant lawyer. A skilled criminal. A beautiful liar. A bully and a savior, a monster and a lover.
Ten years ago, he made me run away from the small town where we lived. Now, he came for me in New York, and he isn’t leaving until he takes me with him.
She is a starving artist. Pretty and evasive like cherry blossom. Ten years ago, she barged into my life unannounced and turned everything upside down. She paid the price.
Emilia LeBlanc is completely off-limits, my best friend’s ex-girlfriend. The woman who knows my darkest secret, and the daughter of the cheap Help we hired to take care of our estate. That should deter me from chasing her, but it doesn’t. So she hates me. Big fucking deal. She better get used to me.
Vicious is vicious. For real.
“Nobody’s all good, just like nobody’s all bad.”, said by Vicious in the book and Emilia’s answer captured the exact feeling that I have towards him, “Sometimes I think you’re all bad,”.
Vicious, its story and characters got my head spinning and feelings all over the place. Everything about it got me all turned up. Everything is so complicated and so fcked up. Most of the time that I was reading it, it felt like I’m in a constant battle with my heart, mind and morals.
Vicious is a thought provoking novel, sure. But all the more, it will make you question yourself and your morals.
It’s a tough read, for me.

They say that life is a beautiful lie and death a painful truth. They’re right.
No one has ever made me feel more alive than the guy who serves as a constant reminder that my clock is ticking.
He is my forbidden, shiny apple.
The striking fallacy to my blunt, raw, truth.
He is also my sister’s ex-boyfriend.
One thing you should know before you judge me;
I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.
Eleven years later, he waltzed into my life, demanding a second chance.
Dean Cole wants to be my bronze horseman. My white knight has finally arrived. Hopefully, he isn’t too late.
They say the brightest stars burn out the fastest. They’re right.
She sets my mind on fire.
All smart mouth, snarky attitude and a huge heart.
In a world where everything is dull, she shines like fucking Sirius.
Eleven years ago, fate tore us apart.
This time, I dare it to try.
Getting to her is a battlefield, but man, that’s why they call me Ruckus.
Rosie LeBlanc is about to find out how hard I can fight.
And conquering her will be the sweetest victory.
I LOVE RUCKUS, the book and the character itself. I’m in love with how L.J. Shen framed Dean Cole and Rosie LeBlanc’s love story. Genesis 27, pretty clever and deep.
Bookstagram friends have warned me and sang their praises about this book. Despite all of that, I still wasn’t prepared that I would be THIS invested over Dean x Rosie’s story, all the HotHoles and other potential story arcs (I’m eyeing you Trent and Hiiii there cutie Luna).
After getting to know Dean and the role he played in the relationship of Vicious x Millie, it was nice to finally hear his side of the story. A very important side of the story (and the entire Sinners of Saint universe) that holds all of his truths. My heart aches for him. His past. His longing. His love. I believe these HotHoles are too tough on the outside but are huge softies on the inside.
Rosie, Millie’s sister. The sick one. Yadda yadda. But this girl just want to be treated fairly, as a normal human being. I got to say, for a sick girl…she really is tough. She does things that she is passionate about. She’ll fight hard for her “freedom”. My heart aches for her, too. Fighting the present to breathe and live a life in the future.
With all the prior entanglements they have, Dean x Rosie’s relationship could’ve been messy. But Dean handled it so smoothly, too carefree. It is what it is. His actions may have met an early resistance from Rosie but he thawed it out by making her feel that they are “it” for each other. He assured me, as well.
L.J. Shen truly created a very addicting universe and set of characters. No matter how pissed off I get towards these guys, I still crave to know more about them. I kept thinking about them.
I’m even itching to read the upcoming novel, Broken Knight, All Saints High #2. I’m going crazy over Knight and Luna!!!! sEnD heLP
