WWW Wednesday Header

WWW Wednesday is a bookish weekly meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm.

It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.

THE THREE Ws ARE:

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

Romancing Mister Bridgerton by Julia Quinn (GOODREADS)

Penelope Featherington has secretly adored her best friend’s brother for… well, it feels like forever. After half a lifetime of watching Colin Bridgerton from afar, she thinks she knows everything about him, until she stumbles across his deepest secret… and fears she doesn’t know him at all.

Colin Bridgerton is tired of being thought nothing but an empty-headed charmer, tired of everyone’s preoccupation with the notorious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown, who can’t seem to publish an edition without mentioning him in the first paragraph.

But when Colin returns to London from a trip aboard, he discovers nothing in his life is quite the same, especially Penelope Featherington, the girl haunting his dreams!

And when he discovers that Penelope has secrets of her own, this elusive bachelor must decide… is she his biggest threat, or his promise of a happy ending?

Thoughts: I’m currently rereading Romancing Mister Bridgerton, my all-time favorite book from the Bridgerton series of Julia Quinn. She’s my go-to author when it comes to historical romance and have been that way since I was a high-school student. To date, I couldn’t remember the times I’ve reread this book (and her other books) and I could do it over and over again. There’s something about Penelope and Colin’s story that always gets me and my emotions.

ON-GOING WATTPAD STORIES THAT I’M READING (just added this one)

watty

Sa’yo Hanggang Huli by FrustratedGirlWriter
Every Bad Thing by kissmyredlips
Beauty from Pain by RainbowColoredMind

Once these stories are finished, I would probably reread it and we’ll see if I can make Wattpad reviews for it too.

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?

The last book that I finished was All’s Fair in Blog and War by Chrissie Peria. I even wrote a book review for it here in my blog. The next book that I started reading after that was Abbi Glines’ latest release, Because of Lila, but I wasn’t able to finish it because I don’t like how messy and conflicting the plot and characters are. I want to shake some sense into Lila’s character. I was expecting so much from this book but I only ended up getting disappointed. Big time. I’ll probably try to pick it up once again, skim it or just have it DNF’ed.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?

I’m planning to read one of my recent Kindle purchases, Prep & Prejudice by Miren B. Flores. I think the price for this book was a steal too at $0.99!

SYNOPSIS

You can take the girl out of teenage hell, but can you take teenage hell out of the girl?

At fourteen, Andrea was a geeky, gangly teenager who spent one magical summer with the rich and famous—surrounded by art, polo ponies, and children who bear the names of corporations and main avenues. She had a mad crush on handsome trust fund baby Manolo, but her silly romantic notions were painfully crushed one night by spoiled, arrogant Jaime—the one boy she loved to hate, and who hated her right back.

More than a decade later, Andrea is overworked and under-loved, with no man in sight and no intention of getting back to the delusional business of hoping and throwing caution to the wind. Ordered by her doctor to hightail it out of the city and into a true-blue vacation, she and her best friend, hippie-heiress Pilar, head off to a small, soon-to-open resort on a southern island. But Andrea’s plans of a tranquil summer holiday are ruined by cruel reminders of the past—taking her back to her humiliations and her thwarted desires.
